Gen Mobile Complaint, Problems, Letter to Management, FCC, and Lifeline
I suggest everyone stay away from Gen Mobile, and report problems to authorities, to resolve your problems and stop them from hurting others.
Better Business Bureau states in red that Gen Mobile "is NOT BBB accredited."
When I put "Gen Mobile" in the internet search bar, I received:
"AI . Gen Mobile users have reported issues with porting numbers, service interruptions even with paid plans, and false advertising of unlimited talk and text services. Some have experienced difficulties getting support, with extended wait times and agents giving conflicting information. Additionally, there are complaints about service interruptions despite having paid for the service.

SO, I AM SHARING MY THOUGHTS AND THE LETTER I SENT:
Observances and opinion on incidents on April 30, 2025, when strangers knocked on tenants’ doors. I am contacting FCC and Lifeline to close down Gen Mobile, and transfer their accounts.
The agents of GEN MOBILE were in our building on April 30, 2025.
My caregiver told me they were in her other client’s affordable housing building in Anaheim last week, knocking on tenant’s doors. The caregiver went to the manager, who had them leave.
The trespassing intruders told me their company gave them a list of affordable housing (like that from OCHA), and they were told to ignore the notices on the door not to enter or solicit. They said they were told knock on tenants’ doors.
I am contacting FCC’s Consumer Complaint Center and Lifeline.
RE: STRANGERS ENTERING THE BUILDING. TENANTS’ DOORS BEING KNOCKED ON BY GEN MOBILE LIFELINE “FREE PHONES” AGENTS, FRAUDULENTLY MISREPRESENTING IN ORDER TO GET A COMMISSION – or gathering information for who knows what nefarious purpose !!!
GOAL #1: HELP ANY TENANTS that you believe may have been defrauded or entered into a fraudulent deal with this disreputable “free phone” and pad (for a few dollars) company.
The man admitted to me that he has had trouble with the law about violence, yet he is unaccompanied, getting Drivers’ Licenses, Social Security Numbers, and other information.
I will share with you laws that I have.
I have picked up information from people on the bus, community agencies, and personally talking with California Lifeline, that is in charge of auditing the free phones. The fine print might indicate that your first phone will be discontinued, when you sign up for a second “free” phone from GEN MOBILE.
GOAL #2: POST NOTICES ON TENANTS’ DOORS: Previous manager had “REMINDERS” put on all tenants’ doors to inform their entire household NOT to open the building’s front door for anyone.
If the person seeking entrance is a tenant, he will know their code or have a remote.
If he is a guest or delivery person, he will be able to contact that person to ring them in, or come down to get their guests.
Tenants are responsible for their guests, and must accompany them,
VIOLATORS are subject to TERMINATION.

1) I THANK THE MANAGER for coming out to the sidewalk – after I shouted out that I had called the police.
2) FRAUD EXAMPLE: After I told the people who said they were agents and would not show their IDs that I called the police. I was waiting outside.
I was holding a telephone, but they walked over to me and asked if I wanted a free phone. I told them I have a phone, and don’t want theirs.
Salesman Daniel misrepresented that I can have TWO phones. Don’t I want two phones? I told him that Lifeline does not allow it.
He said it was okay, because it is ACP. I could have my phone and have second phone (paid for by the taxpayers). I told him his phones are Lifeline, and his supervisor told him that ACP was discontinued.
I have applicable laws, documents, Gen Mobile Terms and Conditions, Lifeline documents. The laws that state that congress voted that each HOUSEHOLD needs a telephone, but tenants cannot keep their current Lifeline mobile service AND get the taxpayers to buy me a new phone and pay for it.
I believe that even applying for DUPLICATE BENEFITS is FRAUD.
(I believe there may be extraordinary circumstances where a doctor has stepped in to provide an extra phone, for nursing home bedridden persons, but not for me who he saw walking down the stairs.)
3) POLICE RECORD FOR VIOLENCE: I have PHOTOS showing that all three “Agents” concealed their Identification. The man, Daniel, had his lanyard in front of his pants zipper, covered with his hands, to conceal the required identification. He indicated that he has a police record for violent crime.
I had been leaning against the post by the stair door, waiting for the police. The woman in the black shirt and jeans said I didn’t want the phone because they are black. She kept asking me why I don’t want the phone. She put a company sticker on my shoulder. I put it on the post and told her not to touch me. She put it on again, and I told her that “UNWANTED TOUCHING” is a crime called “BATTERY.” I looked at the man, and asked him if he agreed. He stepped back, his face quenched, as if he knew what I was taking about. I asked him if he knew what I was talking about -- if he had problems with the law. He nodded and made a “yea” sound. He called the woman away, and walked back to the curb. One of his “epithets” to me was that I reminded him of his grandmother.
4) HOW THEY GET IN: They said the company told them to find a way in, without going to the manager.
First, they said they were allowed in, because they had the children in the playground open the front door. That is illegal in so many ways.
When we were all outside, I saw them try to get to the door at the bottom of the stairs, that is often left ajar, because it does not always close tight. It is a shortcut for people who got to the curb to smoke or relax.
I have a “movie” of the “Agents” going out. The movie shows the man trying to smash the door into me, but the door has a device that closes it slowly, so it did not harm this elderly woman.
Outside, they came up to me to say the police are not coming, and started to go back in the side door, but I clicked it shut.
They did not leave, even after the manager came out. (The police did come, and he told them not to enter the building.)
5) PROTECT OUR TENANTS, BECAUSE IF THEY SIGN UP FOR GEN MOBILE, THE FINE PRINT MIGHT MEAN THE TENANT COMMITTED FRAUD, AND POSSIBLE DEPORTATION, EVEN AFTER NATURALIZATION.

You have to read more than an hour to see:
De-Enrollment. You or Your household may lose Your Lifeline discount for any of the following reasons: You or Your household no longer qualifies; You or Your household are receiving more than one discount;
People cannot have TWO phones that have government discounts. When you enroll in GEN MOBILE, your other discount phone will be cut off. .
Also, deportation letters are making the news, where even attorneys born in the USA are told to leave.
Super-poor people in "Affordable Housing Projects" have the salesman click the button on the phone application that you have read the Terms Notice and Privacy Notice -- so you know Gen Mobile states up front that your information will be turned over to the government
MY OPINION: JUST DO NOT DO ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES -- OR LET THIS QUESTIONABLE GEN MOBILE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR PEOPLE.
There are reputable companies who participate in the free "Obama Phone" project, and can show you how to use it, and turn on and off "Data Usage" so you do not run up a bill for the free phone's expensive plan.
